Warmer than white, cooler than cream – grey is the perfect neutral, it’s no wonder it’s been hotly tipped on interiors trends for the past few years. Personally, I just can’t get enough. When I went to pick a colour for my walls in my house I went for a pale grey tone. It’s an really easy starter-off shade, especially for a interior paint-aphobe like me, as it is still close to white but gives that little bit of edge. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of colour but usually when it comes to interior accessories – I have pillows, rugs, vases in a riot of colour but it can be really intimidating/risky/scary trying to choose a colour to invest in for your walls so, naturally grey was the perfect choice.
There’s far more than paint on offer in all shades of grey so for effortless chic home styling, mix and match different tones of versatile grey in accessories and furniture for a big dose of understated glamour. Dark and light tones will give contrast and depth to a room, while mixing in pastel shades of pink, metallics and clean lines bring an contemporary edge. If going for a monotone grey colour scheme for a room, add interest by mixing in natural textures like wood, wool and faux fur and graphic prints. Good to know that grey is actually super calming so will works really well in a bedroom, office, or sitting room. Get ready to embrace the most stylish neutral with some interior inspo below.
